Specialized Assignments

The Evansville Police Department prides itself on being a department that provides many specialized units to meet the needs of the citizens of Evansville and surrounding agencies.    Each of these assignments requires advanced training and often certifications. These duties are performed above and beyond the officers’ regular assignment.  A specialized assignment may become a permanent function of the department or may be a temporary function established to meet a specific short-term need.  These positions are assessed annually to insure that they reflect the needs of the ever evolving community.
