The tip line is a 24-hour hotline the public can use to give information to the department in a discreet fashion. The tip line will record messages in an anonymous manner, providing citizens a way to give information and/or leave a contact number for follow-up if they desire.   Helpful information would be: description and location of activity address, description of possible firearms or weapons, involved names or descriptions such as clothing, hair color, and height, involved description of vehicles and license plate numbers.

The department will listen to the messages during the day and forward them to the applicable units for    follow-up.
