The Office Services Unit is responsible for maintaining the budget and financial operations of the department. The Unit consists of civilian positions of Finance Officer and Finance Assistant supervised by the Sergeant who serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief. They perform a wide variety of bookkeeping and clerical duties working closely with the City Controller as they report and receive payroll, complete detailed budgetary information, submit requisitions to process purchase orders and work closely with the Chief to maintain a responsible accounting of department funds.

These positions require a full knowledge of government accounting as well as standard operating procedures and applicable laws regarding accounting procedures. They are responsible for purchasing all equipment and maintaining an inventory of essential supplies to keep our department running efficiently 24/7. They also monitor forfeiture and grant funds and report according to Federal and State standards.
