The Professional Standards Section is staffed by one sergeant and acts as liaison between the police department and the Commission on the Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the Indiana Police Accreditation Coalition (InPAC). The Professional Standards Section ensures the department's policies and practices conform to applicable accreditation standards established by CALEA. This unit submits required reports in a timely manner to CALEA and advises the Chief of needed changes in policy and procedures to conform to CALEA standards. The Professional Standards Section keeps the Chief apprised of timetables in reference to re-accreditation activities.
